What to expect
Montauk's iconic reef-break beach, considered one of the East Coast's top surf spots. Summer is beginner-friendly longboard season; fall delivers bigger swells. Surf schools include East End Surf Club (Gurney's), Corey's Wave, Engstrom (Marram Montauk), Austin's Surf Camp. Rentals at Air & Speed Surf Shop and Sunset Surf Shack.
