Cannabis Delivery in Sagaponack and Wainscott: Yes, Licensed Stores Deliver, and Here Is How

Neither Sagaponack nor Wainscott allows a dispensary, but licensed Southampton and Water Mill stores deliver to private addresses in both. Who delivers, how the handoff works, and how to spot an unlicensed service.

5 min read

The question behind searches like "cannabis delivery Wainscott" and "weed delivery Sagaponack" is simple: will a licensed store bring it to the rental, and what does the handoff involve? The answer is yes, for adults 21+, at a private address, with a prepaid order and an ID check at the door. Neither Sagaponack nor Wainscott will ever have a storefront under current local law, which makes delivery the main route for both.

Why delivery, not a storefront

Sagaponack is an incorporated village inside the Town of Southampton. The town opted in to licensed dispensaries in 2021, but Sagaponack, like Southampton Village, Quogue and Westhampton Beach, opted out within its own borders. Wainscott is a hamlet of the Town of East Hampton, and East Hampton Town opted out of retail dispensaries and consumption lounges in December 2021.

Opt-outs cover retail stores. They do not block delivery. The Office of Cannabis Management's delivery FAQ says licensed dispensaries can deliver to an adult 21+ at "all forms of residential properties," short- and long-term rentals included, and at private businesses anywhere in New York State.

Who delivers to Sagaponack and Wainscott

The licensed stores closest to both sit a few miles west. As of 2026, several advertise South Fork delivery on their own sites:

  • Charlie Fox, 471 County Road 39, Southampton, lists same-day delivery across East Hampton Town, naming East Hampton Village, Amagansett, Wainscott and Springs.
  • The Hamptons Collective, 257 County Road 39A, Southampton, delivers from Westhampton to Montauk, with a $125 delivery minimum posted on its site.
  • Brown Budda New York, 1533 County Road 39, Southampton, lists delivery and pickup alongside in-store shopping.
  • Hampton Premium Green, 978 Montauk Highway, Water Mill, runs same-day delivery to the eastern hamlets.

Delivery windows, minimums and fees vary by store and change with the season. The dispensary directory carries current listings for each.

How a licensed delivery works

The state's rules are the same whichever store you order from:

  1. Order online or by phone, and pay then. All deliveries are prepaid. Cash is not accepted by the courier.
  2. Attest to your age. Online orders require confirming you are 21+ at checkout.
  3. Give a physical address. It has to be a residence, a rental or a private business in New York. Deliveries cannot go to a car, a beach, a park, a public building or a school.
  4. Show ID and sign. The courier checks a valid government photo ID with a date of birth and takes a signature. A driver's license from any state, a passport or a U.S. military ID all count.
  5. Get a receipt. The invoice lists the dispensary, the products, the quantities and the delivery employee's name.

If someone other than the buyer will answer the door, the buyer has to attest at ordering that the recipient is 21+, and the recipient still shows ID. Deliveries happen only during the dispensary's hours of operation, and stores may charge a delivery fee.

Vaporizers, edibles and what can be ordered

One of the searches behind this piece is for vaporizer delivery in Sagaponack. Licensed stores can deliver the same regulated products they sell in-store: flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles, tinctures and concentrates. Per-day limits for delivery match the possession limits: up to 3 ounces of flower and up to 24 grams of concentrated cannabis, which covers vape cartridges, oils and edibles.

Regulated products carry New York's universal symbol and a QR code linking to the product's lab results. A vape cartridge from an unlicensed source has neither, and no testing behind it either.

Spotting an unlicensed delivery service

Unlicensed delivery operators advertise across the East End in summer, usually through social media and text lists. The tells: cash on delivery, no ID check, no receipt, and no storefront dispensary behind the brand. Licensed delivery in New York always runs through a licensed dispensary. Verify licensed status via the OCM QR code at cannabis.ny.gov, or look the store up on the state's dispensary location verification page before ordering.

Sagaponack and Wainscott, briefly

Both hamlets are quieter than their neighbors. Sagaponack is farmland running down to the ocean, and Wainscott sits between East Hampton and Bridgehampton around its pond. Neither has much of a commercial strip, which is part of the appeal and part of why delivery fits.

The rules for after the courier leaves are the same as anywhere in the state:

  • New York state law prohibits cannabis consumption on state-owned land and in public spaces, and that includes the ocean beaches and their parking lots.
  • Consumption in a motor vehicle is prohibited, parked or moving.
  • A rental lease can ban smoking entirely. Read it before ordering anything that involves a lighter.
  • Start low, go slow with edibles. The first serving should be a low-milligram one, with time to wait before any second.

The short version

Adults 21+ in Sagaponack and Wainscott cannot walk into a local dispensary, but licensed Southampton and Water Mill stores deliver to private addresses in both. Prepay, have ID ready, use a residential address, and check the store's license before ordering.
