New Dispensaries in the Hamptons (2026): Water Mill, Southampton and What Is Licensed Next

Two licensed dispensaries opened in the Hamptons in 2026, in Water Mill and Southampton, and three more East End locations hold licenses but have not opened.

4 min read

The Hamptons added two licensed dispensaries in 2026, one in Water Mill in January and one in Southampton in April, and a third storefront that opened at the end of 2025 is still new to most summer visitors. Several more East End locations hold state licenses but have not opened. Every open shop below sells only to adults 21+ and appears as operating in the Office of Cannabis Management's (OCM) license data as of 2026.

Opened in 2026

Hampton Premium Green, Water Mill (opened January 2026)

Hampton Premium Green opened at 978 Montauk Highway in Water Mill on Saturday, January 31, 2026, the opening day its owners announced. The building is the story: a house believed to date to around 1780, most recently a longtime antique shop, listed in Southampton's historic resources survey, which meant review by the town's architectural and landmarks boards before a single display case went in. Owners Albert and Ashley Capraro bought it in November 2024 and kept the signage understated. OCM lists the business as women- and minority-owned. The state license is held by Ashley Capraro LLC.

The Hamptons Collective, Southampton (opened April 2026)

The Hamptons Collective opened in April 2026 at 257 County Road 39A in Southampton, after a licensing and town-approval process reported as more than two years in the making. OCM dates its opening to April 8. The co-founders are Ben Goldberg and Rachel Halevy; Goldberg has described the look as a European beach club crossed with a spa, and the shop runs delivery across the East End through its website. It holds a conditional adult-use retail (CAURD) license, the state's first-round program for businesses owned by justice-involved individuals.

New since late 2025

Charlie Fox, Southampton (opened November 2025)

Charlie Fox opened on November 24, 2025, at 471 County Road 39, after its own litigation with the Town of Southampton. It is a compact, roughly 1,000-square-foot room run by co-founders James Mallios and Julia Levi. State records list the license under the name East End Arrivals, so look for that name if checking it on OCM's site.

With Brown Budda New York, which opened at 1533 County Road 39 in 2024, that makes four OCM-licensed storefronts in the Hamptons: three along County Road 39 and 39A in Southampton, and one on Montauk Highway in Water Mill.

Licensed, not yet open

OCM's data shows three more Southampton Town locations with an active license and no open storefront as of 2026:

  • Bridgehampton: 2033 Montauk Highway, the former Carvel building, where the Southampton Town Planning Board approved a small dispensary called Budhampton in 2025.
  • Tuckahoe: 125 Tuckahoe Lane, Southampton.
  • Southampton: 10 Montauk Highway.

All three count as licensed, not yet open, per OCM. Town approvals on the East End have run long, and an approved site plan has not meant a quick opening.

The map stops at Water Mill for a reason. The Town of East Hampton and Shelter Island opted out of retail dispensaries in 2021, so Amagansett, Montauk and Shelter Island have no storefront, and OCM's data shows none pending there. Adults 21+ there buy in Southampton Town or order licensed delivery to a private residence.

How to check that a shop is licensed

Summer brings pop-ups and smoke shops that look the part. Licensed dispensaries post a QR code at the entrance, and adults can verify licensed status via the OCM QR code at cannabis.ny.gov. A scan should return the shop's name and address; no code, or a code that leads elsewhere, means it is not a licensed dispensary. OCM's own finder is at cannabis.ny.gov, and the full list of licensed Hamptons shops is at /dispensaries.

Two rules travel with any purchase. Adults 21+ may possess up to 3 ounces of flower and 24 grams of concentrate. And New York state law prohibits cannabis consumption on state-owned land and in public spaces, which includes state parks such as Montauk Point and Hither Hills, along with town beaches, docks and village sidewalks.

FAQ

What new dispensaries opened in the Hamptons in 2026?

Two: Hampton Premium Green in Water Mill, which opened January 31, 2026, and The Hamptons Collective in Southampton, which opened in April 2026. Charlie Fox in Southampton opened just before, in November 2025.

Is there a new dispensary in Bridgehampton?

Not yet. A location at 2033 Montauk Highway holds an active state license and town site-plan approval, but OCM does not list it as operating as of 2026.

How many dispensaries are in the Hamptons now?

Four OCM-licensed storefronts, all in the Town of Southampton: Brown Budda New York, Charlie Fox and The Hamptons Collective on County Road 39 and 39A, and Hampton Premium Green in Water Mill.

Why is there no dispensary in East Hampton or Montauk?

The Town of East Hampton opted out of retail dispensaries in 2021, which covers hamlets such as Montauk and Amagansett. Licensed Southampton shops can deliver there.

Scan the OCM QR code at the entrance or look the shop up at cannabis.ny.gov. Licensed shops sell only to adults 21+ with valid ID.
